Xiaomi is being well recognized by smartphone users, so it is no longer another new player in the tech industry. In short period,there was a huge increase in the company’s performance. Xiaomi is ranked second in terms of growth, market share and the number of units shipped in 2016.

The global wearable market grew by 3.1% year by year in the 3rd quarter of 2016 with fitness bands enrolling a double digit growth. According to a data from the International Data Corporation (IDC), wearable’s shipments exceeded 23 million in the quarter.

There is no doubt that the achievement is greater than expectation for the company, surpassing Samsung and Apple. Fitbit remains a leader in the wearable segment with a market share of 22%, without being affected by some tough times in the past year and a decline in market share.

According to IDC,the next in line is Xiaomi with 15.4% market share that has managed to ship 3.8 million units in the third quarter.

“Xiaomi is in number 2 position in the global wearable market”, tweeted by the Vice President of Xiaomi, Manu Kumar.

In the 4th quarter of 2016, total 33.9 million wearable devices were shipped worldwide, out of those, Xiaomi managed to ship 15.7 million. Compared to last year, Xiaomi has seen 31% growth with a market share of 15.4%.

The Chinese Smartphone manufacturer has a different approach to capture the wearable industry. It is focused on maintaining the quality of the mark.

However, China-based Xiaomi, across all business lines, continues to struggle to gain significant traction outside its home country.

Xiaomi’s majority of customers are in China, followed by India. Xiaomi can surely come on top. But the company lacks worldwide recognition, but in the coming years, it can overcome this drawback.
