visa-logoGlobal card payments system provider Visa plans to open a new technology development centre in India next year, although the company didn’t mention which city in specific. Currently, Visa is working on developing key application programming interfaces (APIs) and software development kits (SDKs) to help its partners easily access VisaNet when developing new commerce and payment products. The development of these APIs and SDKs, of which the first set of tools will be publicly released this year, will shift to the new technology development center in India when it opens in 2015.

In July this year, Visa had opened a similar 112,000 sq-ft innovation centre called ‘One Market’ at its new office in San Francisco to enable its clients, partners, employees and the Bay area tech community co-develop various commerce and payment applications.

The company said it currently plans to aggressively drive the adoption of its Visa Digital Solutions, a suite of solutions that it claims will facilitate secure payments across a multitude of Internet-connected devices and wearables. It recently also introduced Visa Checkout, a payment service that lets consumers pay for goods online using any device. The service is currently available in the US and Canada with plans to made it available in Australia later this year.
