Donald P. Mains, former White House Staff for George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush administrations and U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Development at HUD and others.
He brings many years of experience working at the White House in Washington DC and internationally he also brings prior work experience in the private sector with broadcast media. Donald Mains (Don) has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated, and others for both national, international, and local projects. He graduated from Ford City High School and later attended Pennsylvania State University before moving on to Johns Hopkins University for his graduate work in communications.
Don Mains has also worked with the Chamber of Commerce, City of Tampa Sports Authority, U.S. Travel and Tourism Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce, and others. His interests are start-up and management of operations and marketing – To generate funds by engaging the community and country as a whole.
During his work with the Louisiana Economic Recovery, he served as Chairman of Campaign for a project designed to ensure access to billions of dollars in tax credits for private sector business owners impacted by Hurricane Katrina. This important work was requested and contracted by the State of Louisiana and City of New Orleans. The objective was to help 120,000 businesses in some distress access $10 billion in federal tax incentives available from the Federal government for economic recovery and growth. Outreach included the State, City of New Orleans, non-profit organizations, private sector businesses plus the U.S. Department of the Treasury, IRS, Federal Reserve Bank, HUD and FDIC.
During his prior service as U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Development at HUD, he was responsible for billions of dollars in grants and federal tax incentives. He trained and directed $11 billion and helped introduce another $24 billion in federal tax incentives. Donald Mains also oversaw areas of responsibility at HUD including the Brownfield Economic Development Initiative, Youth build Housing Initiative, Rural Housing and Economic Development program, Congressional Economic Development grants, and Urban Development Action Grants.
Donald Mains coordinated meetings with England’s Prime Minister, Prague hosting the first anniversary of democracy, NATO Summit in Istanbul, Meeting with King of Saudi Arabia, G- 7 Economic Summit of Industrial Nations, and meetings in the Middle East, China, Europe and USA.

Donald Mains oversaw international advertising and public relations campaigns promoting travel and tourism to the United States. He also served as U.S. Government spokesman on Travel and Tourism worldwide. He coordinated events in London, Tokyo, Berlin, Brussels, and Hong Kong.
