You have just one week left (until October 3, 2014) to get your entry in for the Mission Main Street Grant program. If you run a small business and are looking for a source of funds and resources to grow it, this is one program you definitely should get involved in.
The program is put on by Chase, and once again this year Google has also joined in to sweeten the pot for the 20 winners.
Twenty small businesses will receive packages totaling $150,000 each from Chase. And if that nice funding package weren’t impressive enough, the winners also get marketing help, advice and resources. Google has added these additional benefits for each winner:
- Chromebook computer
- $2,00o coupon toward a market research study with Google Consumer Surveys
- Trip to the Google campus for a small business marketing workshop with Google experts
But you don’t need to be a winner to get something. In addition to the opportunity to show off your business to the world, just for applying you’ll also get access to a special marketing toolkit put together by Google and Chase. The toolkit shares tips for digital marketing, social media, online advertising and analytics. Applicants also get a $150 coupon toward one market research study with Google Consumer Surveys.
What was the experience like last year? Here’s what it meant to one winner:
“ABL Denim, a small business based out of Los Angeles and a 2013 grant recipient, understands the benefits of the grant full well. The company produces a premium denim jean line designed with features that make dressing easier for people with limited mobility or sensory integration disorders. The grant has allowed owner Stephanie Alves and her team the opportunity to hire staff, rebuild their website, create a product catalogue, and learn more about investing in marketing and advertising – which lent tremendous credibility in their talks with bigger retailers about business partnerships.”
Applicants must have been in business for at least two years, and have under 100 employees. To apply, go to Mission Main Street Grants for full details. Good luck, and remember the deadline of October 3, 2014.
